THE TALE OF SEDNA
First Year, Second Semester (2019)
The Tale of Sedna is an Inuit story of how a young woman becomes the goddess of the sea after having her fingers chopped off by her father and falling to the bottom of the ocean.

This design project combined traditional Inuit dress with 16th century Tudor attire, as well as body padding and a mask.

My final costume was for a fish character I designed inspired by Lumpsuckers found in the arctic. All the lycra used for the costume was dyed by hand using procion dyes and the mask was hand-painted using acrylic paints.
